Name: Mount Cameron
Elevation: 14,238
Range: Mosquito
Rank in Range (without 300 foot prominence rule): 2
As described by Wikipedia: “The importance of fourteeners is greatest in Colorado, which has the majority of such peaks in North America.” With that in mind, here is a series to celebrate the mountains we call “14ers.”
The “Honorable Mention” part of the 14ers series is directed towards 5 peaks that, while not meeting the 300 foot prominence rule, are central to true Colorado mountaineering. They are either noted as named peaks on USGS Quads, popular in photographs, present a serious challenge to summit, or are made up of a combination of these characteristics.
