The Rails to Trails Conservancy website http://www.railstotrails.org/index.html states that they are committed to creating "a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors to build healthier places for healthier people." Gaston County has a long section of old railroad paths from Dallas to Broad St and Rt. 7 in Gastonia. Sections of this trail are paved, sections are dirt trails, and sections are overgrown and not walking friendly.
You must walk or bike on the trails. "No motorized vehicles allowed."
