Once again, the ladies of Crescent Trekkers and Scrabblers went out to play this game. In the past we've taken to the Road and a Trail.
This time we took to the Rails. Welcome to the Norfolk Southern Railroad Trail!
The Rails to Trails Conservancy states that they are committed to creating "a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors to build healthier places for healthier people." A portion of this rails trail is part of the Carolina Thread Trail.
Gaston County has a long section of old railroad paths from Dallas to Broad St and Rt. 7 in Gastonia. Sections of this trail are paved, sections are dirt trails, and sections are overgrown and not walking friendly.
You must walk or bike on the trails. "No motorized vehicles allowed."
The top of container remains attached, the rest of it twists and comes apart for signing the log.
