Geocache Description:

This cache takes you to the historic district of Old Oakland, an area where there are surprisingly few geocaches these days.  This area served as the original downtown during the latter part of the 19th century, and many of the Victorian buildings have now been restored to their former glory.  The nearby brewery occupies a building that was originally constructed in 1876, and it is one of many great places in the area to grab a drink or a bite to eat.  You can also check out nearby Oakland Chinatown.  Jack London Square is a little further away, but it is also a great place to explore.  Also make sure to check out the outdoor farmers market held on this street on Friday mornings

Paid street parking is available, and the location is also very near the 12th St. BART stop.  This is a great area to visit during the day, but I would not suggest making the trip at night.

Update 8/21: the original cache became inaccessible. I replaced it with a new nano cache in the exact same location. Please bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.
