Geocache Description:

Keeping in board game theme for Wherigo's... one of my favourites from childhood/teenhood...

Cluedo is a murder-mystery themed deduction game. The object of the game is for players to strategically move around the game board (representing the rooms of a mansion), collecting clues from which to deduce which suspect is guilty of foul play in the case of the game's victim, Dr. Black, and with which weapon and in what room.

This wherigo is a real-life version of the board game, with the locations swapped around a wee bit to make it an outdoors game.

There has been a murder at Riccarton House! Your host Dr. Black, has met an unfortunate end, and it is your task to find out who did it, with what, and where.
The game rules are relatively similiar to the board game. You start off with 3 cards. These 3 cards represent who/what/where it ISN'T. You then need to walk around making suggestions as to how you think the crime may have happened. For every suggestion that can be disproved by someone else, you will be shown another card. Keep note of these, and then eventually, you will be able to deduce by which cards you haven't seen who/what/where it happened.
Once you know this, you can make an accusation.

After you have made a correct accusation, you can go and chase the suspect. They have done a runner a wee way away - and knowing all about cache saturation - ensured they dropped what they did in a spot where there were no other caches!

Every new game begun is generated randomly. At the end, you also get a final score of how many guesses it took you. It would be cool if with your log you could therefore post your score and who/what/where your solution was! But this is not a requirement.
Final is a suitable object, hidden in a 1L ice cream container with a pen. You can put trades into the ice cream container, but you must sign the log which is within the other item!

You can download the wherigo here.

Tips:
  1. Take a pen and paper with you. This may make solving easier.
  2. Want to make more than one suggestion in the same zone? You need to exit, and then re-enter for the option to pop up again.
  3. All zones are located within the area of Riccarton House and Bush (which closes at night time). Final is a medium walk or short drive away, and accessible 24/7.
  4. There is a market here on Saturday and Sunday mornings. You can still complete the wherigo at this time, but be prepared for some strange looks maybe.
  5. Finished playing and have the coords? Why not re-set your game, try see if you can get a better score! - Solve the mystery quicker!

Please exercise stealth at final. Muggles can appear out of nowhere. Ensure you are alone. Please also be careful with logsheet container/holder.
As always with wherigo's, your smartphone will work much better, and save often, especially if using a GPS.

And of course thanks where they are due again:
Bretina for answering my long winded email about Cluedo in Wherigo and how to actually make it work!
Hinemoana - my mum - for listening to my extremely exited phone talks about things working even when it was really late at night
And Stegan can get a thanks again, as without his explanations on wherigo creation, I would still not have any ideas what I'm doing!
