The event will start at 10am in the car park of the Glenview Hotel, where cachers will be given instructions, and will then need to head off in teams of 4 through Wicklow. On the way there are stops that need to be made, and items that need to be photographed. Points will be given for every photo, with the best of each item receiving bonus points. On arrival at the final location, points will be totted up, and a winner will be declared.
To partake in this event, each team of 4 will need:
- A GPSr
- A digital camera, with removable memory card (camera phones aren't ideal unless the memory card can be removed)
- A car
- A Sat Nav
At the final location there is a chance to have some lunch and a chat while we wait for everyone to arrive and tot up the points. After this there is plenty of time to pick up some of Wicklow's great caches nearby.
Those of you who are old enough will remember the original Photo Hunt event held on 10-10-10. I've been asked a few times if I ever planned to hold another one, but the amount of work involved in organising the original one put me off. However, it was a lot of fun, and the feedback I got from attendees was worth the effort. Now that I can no longer use the excuse of having an infant around I think it's time to resurrect this event!
