Geocache Description:

Welcome to Torr Park in Eastham

Eastham is cited as one of the oldest villages on the Wirral Peninsula and has been inhabited since Anglo Saxon times. The name derives from its location:ham ("home") situated to the east of Willaston, which was then the principal settlement The original village is clustered around St Mary's church, whose churchyard contains an ancient yew tree. Much of the surrounding land was once owned by the powerful Stanley family.
Today you can still see evidence of the raised drive by which access was available to Canon Torrs mansion house at Carlet Park. The drive borders the now cricket pitch and the park and is lined with magnificent Rhododendron bushes which are stunning in season.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE IF THERE IS A CRICKET MATCH ON
The cache is placed inside the boundaries of Torr Park in Eastham.
You need not climb any walls to gain access to Ground Zero.
The Cache is a small clip n' lock container in a camo bag tucked away in a small cave!
Inside the box is a little treat for the "First to find" which was handmade by the Callikidz.
This is our first cache so please have fun and spend some time here in this wonderful park...we do!
