Call Of The Wild Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Pax42: It was a tough decision but due to challenges associated with repairing stage 2. I've decided to archive Call of The Wild. Apologies to those watching but not yet getting out to find it and a big thanks to all those that did and left such positive logs. Reading logs of those that truly enjoy finding my caches is the best part of the game.

Geocache Description:

*** PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE ATTEMPTING ***

Ready for a nice hike in the woods? OK, maybe not so nice. Unlike many of my hides that are hidden near the trail, this cache will require a good deal of bushwhacking. I wanted/needed this hide to be off the beaten path. Having said that, I've tried to offer something a little different to make it worth the extra time and effort.

This is a 3 stage multi requiring TOTT (tools of the trade) at stage 1. I try to keep extra tools readily available at the stage coordinates but it wouldn't hurt to bring along a kit with typical caching tools just in case.

Coordinates are provided for parking along NW Hampton Road and for the trailhead where your journey begins. This is an unimproved trail so be prepared for mud if going for this after rain or snow. It should go without saying you should also dress appropriately and use bug repellents if attempting during spring, summer or early fall. The roundtrip hike is approximately 1.5 miles.

SPECIAL NOTES:

1: Other than your GPS device, all other items needed to find this cache are provided.

2: While there is technically a field puzzle involved, do not over-think things. No stage is intended to be a drain on your brain.

3: There is no need to dismantle anything at stage 1 or 2.

4: After finding the final stage, the route of least resistance (i.e. least bushwhacking) back to the trail is to retrace your track.

Thanks goes to KCMO Parks for granting permission to place this cache. Special thanks also goes out to Conley Crew, Origamifolder, and Fuerte24 for playing the role of guinea pigs. Their feedback lead to some of the special notes listed above. Fuerte24 also generously provided the container for the final stage.

Good luck and happy caching.
