Set up by the Australian Army mid 1942 the nurses stationed here loved their service. By the end of the war there were two wards and an operating room although most of the really serious cases were transferred to Katherine Hospital. At the end of the war the hospital was closed down and transferred to Elliott. The buildings were sold off with the following warning “All wooden partitions and wooden parts of huts badly damaged by white ants”. You think!!!!!
