Environ 450 km d'anciennes lignes de chemin de fer ont déjà été aménagés par la RW mais il reste encore un certain nombre de lignes à l’abandon. Afin d’éviter une détérioration de ces lignes, certaines communes ont décidé de réaliser un aménagement minimum : il s’agit alors d’un Pré-RAVeL.

C'est un Ravel ....mais à l'intersection d'une route !
