Camping with Grandma 2013 Windust Park Traditional Cache

tumbleweed2: Sadly I am forced to archive this Camping with Grandma Cache of mine, since this area suffered a terrible fire over Labor Day weekend 2020, that destroyed all the vegetation as well as roads, buildings and bridges for several acres. The access roads and bridges to get to this one are damaged or destroyed, and there remains no access to get here, nor hiding spot available.

Thanks to SP&SFan for documenting the fire damage.

Geocache Description:


My 5 year old Grand-Twins and I have a tradition of camping for a week in August around my birthday, just the 3 of us. This is the 3rd year we have camped, and we wanted to leave a cache as a memento of our fun times.

Since the Corps of Engineers doesn't like caches on their property, this one is located about .8 mi from Windust Park where we camped this year. There is parking on the South side of the road (the River side) very near the cache. Please cover cache well after signing the log, as there are many fishermen and "explorers" in this area.

This should be my 300th hide, so it is appropriate for our 3rd year of "CAMPING WITH GRANDMA".
