Chaplin is a nice little town.
Some of the best attractions in Saskatchewan can be found in or near Chaplin.
They have the largest deposit of sodium sulphate in North America,
and are host to over thirty different species of shorebirds.
Each year hundreds of thousands of birds stop at Chaplin Lake
- some to nest, some to refuel on their way to their Artic breeding grounds.
The Nature Centre offers a wealth of information about the shore birds, the brine shrimp and mining industry as well as the area's significance as it connects to the hemispheric web of migration.
There are shuttle bus tours available which give visitors a taste of the area by providing information not only on the shorebirds but also on conservation, local industry and history and the agricultural practices in the region.
