GPS ACCURACY. I do not know if my gps is wonky or if this area is in a GPS abyss (my phone signal often goes here) but I have walked this route many times and keep getting different co-ords 3 days later it's back to the original ones's. Even one's that should not cause issues do! Hopefully title's and hints will help make up for this anomoly.
A Lab's Tranquility a walk in an area that I find so peaceful and tranquil, it's often very quiet around here aside from a few dog walkers partridge's, peregrine's, dragon flies, pheasant's, frogs ewwwww! and loads of Deer's. I find it so peaceful and calming with amazing views when it's not foggy that is!
This is the longest series that I have set over a distance of about 4.5 miles (don,t hold me to that not quite got the hang of track log). I originally planned it as a small loop with parking in a gateway but after a visit back to the area to walk Ellie over the summer I decided to extend the walk along the edge of the wood and have it start where there is much better parking in the form of a very long layby.
The walk takes you down the edge of Weethley Wood you will pass 3 of Wrighty's caches along the way. At the bottom of the wood the walk loops back up to the church before joining the wood again. But to keep you occupied on the way back to the car the final Cache is a 3 stage multi. You could also leave a cache or two to do on the way back I dare you to leave #2 till your return trip can you resist the Belly of the Beast?
I hope you enjoy the walk and the views and of course the caches there is a variety to keep you busy along the way many of which are typical Geolab home made caches many of which were designed through the summer and I have been itching to deploy them.
I suggest good walking boots and possibly wellies in winter. It is of course dog friendly with only 2 stiles to negotiate which my dog managed. This is mostly arable land with one sheep field and the paths are by inlarge pretty good and wide the odd one not so but nothing to horrible. Please take care entering the wood there is some small ditches to negotiate and trip hazards. Yup even I fell twice on setting!
And if you see someone with a Yellow Lab looking lost that might just be me, I have a terrible habit of getting lost when out caching and now I am even getting lost setting my own series!
PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS SERIES AT NIGHT (SORRY) WITH THE PRESENCE OF MANY DEER I WOULD HATE YOU TO BE MISTAKEN FOR A POACHER.
