Pond In The Wood at Hensol Traditional Cache

This is the 16th in a series of 26 caches (one for each letter of the alphabet) which completes a circular walk of around 5 miles in the Hensol Forest and Hensol Park area of the Vale of Glamorgan.  The walk uses forest tracks, quiet lanes and public footpaths with the terrain being relatively easy although in a couple of places it can get quite boggy after wet weather.  Due to stiles and gateways it is unsuitable for wheelchairs or buggies.

The remains of the mill pond (presumably for the local farm) can just be seen in the woods although it is now heavily silted up.

The cache is a micro placed along a quiet country lane.  Even though the lane is quiet, there are few places to park along the lane and so the cache is not suitable as a cache and dash.  Also please keep an eye on children and dogs whilst in the lane.  You will need to bring a pen(cil) to sign the log as the cache only contains the log strip.  Please ensure the cache is replaced as found.
