To give a little information about our member name, Redd Metal, the name is made up of two parts. “Redd” refers to the female part of our team, because of her hair. “Metal” refers to the male part of our team, because of his music taste.
That being said, one of my very favorite metal bands would be Amon Amarth. They are a melodic death metal band from Sweden, founded in 1992. It takes its name from the Sindarin name of Mount Doom, a volcano in J.R.R Tolkien's Middle-Earth. Their lyrics mostly deal with the Vikings, their mythology and their history.
They recently released a new album; Deceiver of the God. It is the ninth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band. I do a lot of driving as part of my job, and I love putting together CDs to listen to on the road. After listening to the new album, I decided to make a new Amon Amarth mix CD. I can fit about 14 of their songs on a CD.
After much debate, I finally came up with the tracks I want and the order I want them on the CD.
My favorite album, “Surtur Rising” most fans do not have as their #1 album, but it is my favorite so the first 2 tracks will come from this album, "Destroyer of the Universe" and then "Töck's Taunt: Loke's Treachery Part II". Then I will pull 3 songs from their 1999 Album “The Avenger”. I decided on "North Sea Storm”, "Avenger" and then "Bleed for Ancient Gods". I want a couple songs from the 1998 album, “Once Sent from the Golden Hall” and decided on "Victorious March" and then "Friends of the Suncross". “The Crusher” had three songs I wanted to add, so next I added "Releasing Surtur's Fire", "Annihilation of Hammerfest" and then "Eyes of Horror". I have enough room for 4 more tracks and I want to get a couple off my 2nd favorite album, which was released in 2006. From that album I pulled "With Oden on Our Side" and "Prediction of Warfare". That’s 12 of 14 songs so I still have room to add 2 songs from their newest album that was just released in the summer of 2013. I went with "Coming of the Tide” and then "Warriors of the North". I think I made great choices but if you are a fan and think you would have picked different songs, let me know. Maybe I will put together a 2nd CD.
