The Ivy Creek Park officially opened around the time this cache was hidden . There was a lot of talking, and some doing, so now it's open.
--- Article from the time --- Ivy Creek Park Dedication and Grand Opening Posted Date: 5/24/2011 On Friday, June 3 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the public is cordially invited to attend the dedication of the City of Lynchburg’s newest park, Ivy Creek Park, located on Jefferson Ridge Parkway off of Lakeside Drive (turn between Sheetz and Lynchburg Fire Station No. 7). The celebration continues on Saturday, June 4 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with festivities, including interpretive walks, free 30-minute canoe or kayak rentals, free fishing days in Virginia (no license required), environmental education, and many more fun activities.
