Geocache Description:

If you visit bush2whack's Montevallo - Confederate Haven (GC3H2NB) cache, you will read a monument that tells of two Civil War Battles.  In the Battle of Church Woods on August 5, 1862, Federal Troops were killed near the church at this site and are said to be buried here in Dunnegan Grove Cemetery.  The cemetery is nicely maintained.

To get to this cache, you will not have to go inside the chain link fence area where all of the graves are.  The cache is on the perimeter.  You are looking for a small plastic jar that is cheetah camo'd.  It contains a log but bring your own pen. After you make the find, take some time to visit the old graves in the cemetery. Also, the old, abandoned church still stands.  Most of the glass is broken out and you can look inside.  Its pretty interesting but I wondered about bats as I looked in.  No night caching please and please be respectful of the place and its "residents" but enjoy your visit.
