Geocache Description:

McLeay Railway siding Signals huts can be seen if you look to the south west from GZ.

The McLeay siding is made up of a 2 km crossing loop where trains can pass each other & a recently extended Engineers siding for storing large track based machinery.

McLeay is named after the former Senator and Minister for Shipping and Transport, George McLeay (1892 – 1955). He was a senior minister in the Menzies Liberal government. McLeay was born in Port Clinton, South Australia and educated at Port Clinton Public School until 1906 and then at Unley Public School.
