Geocache Description:

The cache is located near the crossing on the way to Lake Mashu. The water of Lake Mashu is most transparent in Japan. It is a caldera lake that was made around seven thousand years ago by big eructation. And the Ainu name of the lake is “Kintan-Kamui-To” that means “Lake of Mountain God”. Thick fog was made by chilling hot and wet air upon the Pacific Ocean rapidly in the Pacific coast of East Hokkaido The that fog is coming up north and fold Lake Mashu. Please bring your pen.

キャッシュは摩周湖に向かう交差点の近くにあります。摩周湖は日本で最も透明度の高い湖です。約７０００年前の巨大噴火によって誕生したカルデラ湖で、アイヌ語では「キンタン・カムイ・トー」（山の神の湖）といいます。太平洋上を北上する暖かく湿った空気が北海道沿岸で急激に冷やされることで濃い霧が発生します。その霧が釧路湿原を北上して摩周湖を霧に包むのです。筆記具を持参ください。
