Each Spring, we head to this area to hear the Spring Peepers, a type of frog who's loud chirping signals the coming of Spring and the warmer weather. If you happen to come around dusk during the peak of the peeper's season, the sound is so incredibly loud it is unlike anything you have ever heard.
If you do not come in the Spring and would like to hear what the peepers sound like, click here.
Here is some information from National Geographic about the Spring Peeper.
As you travel to the cache site, you are likely to pass through the quaint town of Hopedale. Once a part of Milford, Hopedale was started in the 1800's as a Utopian community and then later developed into the largest producer of textile machinery in the country. The old Draper Mill still stands in the center of town as a large monument to the industrial past of Hopedale.
The section of forest that hosts the cache is in need of a bit of attention. Be sure to bring a bag and help practice "Cache In, Trash Out". If you park at the suggested parking area, you have a 10 minute walk through a hidden section of Hopedale forest. The cache can also be reached if you park at the Hopedale cemetery.
