Geocache Description:

The third of the headlands between West Beach on the way to Twilight Beach. Geocachers will get an idea of the strength of our island protected seas.

The cache is situated on the headland between Salmon Beach & Fourth Beach and gives a good view of the power of the ocean and its currents.

Watching the waves roll into Salmon Beach is amazing and when the sea is really pounding the whole bay can be white.

Fourth Beach shows the strength and speed of the outgoing rips and the view to Twilight Beach.

We do get unexpected king waves which can come through at up to 2 metres higher than the normal waves. Enjoy the view but PLEASE don’t go too close to the water. If you get washed or slip  in you wouldn’t have a hope unless you have a wetsuit and board.  We have lost fishermen off the rocks in Salmon Beach.

The easiest approach is parking at the car park at the west end of Salmon Beach and following the sealed walk/cycleway to the rocks then just a short stroll to the DZ.
