The fifth out of six caches inspired by characters from 'The Gruffalo' story. A circular walk over 1-1/2miles, well walked but can be muddy paths. Unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies. This fifth cache is a small tupperware.
This cache has disappeared twice, it is possible that some wildlife (or a Gruffalo) may have scampered off with it. Please make sure it is re-hidden and put securely in place.
The red sandstone slopes of this area are home to several woods, Coed Y Wenallt is one. It is a 44 hectare area of designated ancient woodland which is also an SSSI. There is a great variety of bird and other wildlife. You could consider yourself unlucky if you didn't hear a Great Spotted Woodpecker, particularly in springtime when the sea of bluebells provides a visual treat. Permission has been kindly granted for this trail of geocaches from Cardiff Council and Natural Resources Wales. Congratulations to sniffadogz for FTF
