The original location of this cache was nearby but changes to the trail warranted it be archived and a redeaux be placed!
Chugach State park has a very good brochure and map which shows the Hillside trail system including the Middle Fork Trail.
The Middle Fork Trail can be accessed from either the Glen Alps (Flattop) or Prospect Heights trailheads/parking areas. A parking fee is required. Your annual state park day use parking permit is valid at both locations.
The hike to the cache can be a loop hike via the Middle Fork Trail and Powerline from either location and is approximately 9 miles. You can also do the Middle Fork Trail one way if you go with a group and leave a vehicle at both trailheads. This is what we did when the cache was placed.
You can hike/walk, run, snowshoe, cross country ski, skijor and even bicycle (permit required) to the cache. The elevation gain is minimal. Don't let the distance or 'remoteness' keep you from this cache. It is not a difficult journey!
The cache container is a 'large' small or a 'small' regular. It is a grey plastic dry box and is filled with swag. Please trade equally!
This cache is a typical non urban hide. Finding the cache is fairly easy. It is the adventure and experience getting to GZ that is your reward!
