Geocache Description:

Captain Bartholomew Roberts, otherwise known as Barti Ddu (Black Bart) was the most successful pirate of The Golden Age of Piracy. He captured over 470 vessels during his recorded career spanning just 4 years. In dedication of such a infamous Welsh personage, we have decided to set up a 'Treasure Hunt' series of caches. These are designed as a series of puzzles, and clues that will lead to a series of micro caches which end in a treasure-based final cache.

This is the second instalment and micro-cache in this pirate themed series of story, puzzles and clues to help find the treasure-themed larger cache at the end. The co-ordinates for this cache should allow you to find the start point, a clearing at a junction of paths.

Having spent days toiling over maps in the local library you realise that a quick map search online was all you needed to locate the first cache, however, you are proud to have discovered who the grave belonged to. Now here is the clue to the next cache, another piece of parchment. Initially it appears to be just blank, but then you hold it closer to the lighter in your hand and suddenly the scrawlings of Barti Ddu emerge from within. In your excitement however, the frail old parchment and the lighter became too close. Quickly you put out the fire, but on closer examination, you realise a vital part of the clue as been forever erased, or has it…

After a night's cursing of one self for destroying the next clue, you stumble into bed and fall into a deep sleep. You find yourself dreaming about the missing information and realise you did see that number briefly, albeit it sub-consciously in the moments before the paper caught alight. However dreams are not so straight forward when it comes to providing such information in the usual manner. Instead you find yourself re-visiting friend's birthday celebrations. Each friend is celebrating a different birthday, and they are each wearing a different colour jumper on the day. You awaken with the foggy remnants of this vision, determined to cling onto the last strands of realisation. All you can remember is that the number is equal to the birthday being celebrated by the person in the same colour as the last cache's container. You quickly grab the photo album to find the right person and birthday.

Tanya celebrated her 80th whilst dressed in GOLD, William celebrated his 10th dressed in his favourite GREEN hoodie, Hannah celebrated her 30th in a BLUE onesie, SILVER was the colour worn by Rob on his massive 105th birthday. Then there was the mother and daughter pair where the former wore RED, the latter PURPLE, as they celebrated their 50th and 15th.

29-09-13: We are placing and up-loading the caches one at a time (mainly due to the time requirements of clue designing and writing) so at the moment this is as far as the series goes, so please be patient and keep an eye out for Pt 3.
