Locos of the Tanfield branch line were stabled here at Bowes Bridge. All that is left of the engine sheds is the turntable pit and a few old railway lines. The Tanfield Railway now passes on what would have been the branch line.

Visiting the railway why not have a stroll along this path as part of your visit.You might even see the trains passing as you walk along.
