Geocache Description:

Following on from the popular Leap Years Day multi events and 12-12-12 multi events we thought it would be fun to have an event to mark 11-12-13

This event will take place on Wednesday December 11th 2013 in The Miners Arms, Hemerdon, we will be there from around 7:00pm until late so come and join us.

Food is available, please indicate in your log if you intend to eat so we can let the landlord know estimated numbers.

As we did for the 12-12-12 multi event we have ordered a Dartmoor 11-12-13 coin.

The coin is by Oakcoins is a full size (2 inch) coin. We have chosen a colour scheme that will make it a partner coin to the 12-12-12 coin as it will be a few years before there is another suitable date. Price of the coin is estimated to be the same as last years, £7.00 each for anyone attending the event, if not attending the 11-12-13 Dartmoor event you are still welcome to order a coin, postage will be an extra £1.

If you would like one please let us know either here, on the event page or through our geocaching profile. As last year we are selling the coins on a first come first served basis, we have not ordered as many as last time and once they are gone they are gone.

This is the design of the coin, a coloured in version will be added to this cache page as soon as it arrives from Oakcoins

A bit about the Miners Arms

Tucked away in the little village of Hemerdon near Plympton, the pub serves real ale in a cosy atmosphere – log fires, mis-matched but tastefully designed furniture and friendly staff await you.

High quality British, fresh, local bar food is served daily. Adjoining the pub is the stunning light and spacious Garden Restaurant which serves gastro style food such as its famous sea food pasta or devilish chocolate brownie. A large patio seating area with water feature, landscaped gardens and views across Plymouth Sound are waiting to be discovered.

Children are very welcome and will enjoy playing in our outdoor play area.

All food prepared on-site, fresh, daily. Our house ale has been served over our bar for 80 years but is surprisingly the only bitter not supplied locally. Bass Pale Ale is brewed in Burton-upon-Trent but has been adopted as our local it is a firm favorite and probably one of our most popular locals propping up the bar. We always have at least two other ales on offer and we use this opportunity to support our local breweries in Devon and Cornwall. Sharps, Bays, Otter, Skinners and St Austell make frequent appearances.

Miserable sods hour The Miners Arms answer to happy hour. Every day from 5.29pm for one hour only we have discounted ale, lager and cider for all of those who need respite after a hard day at work or play. Come and be part of our regular crowd and try to solve the answer to "Today's Teaser" at the bar. The full menu can be found on the Miners Arms web site.
