KacheHuntR Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

chartmaker: Alas, this geocache is no longer a good fit for the location of its hide. Major road construction has greatly altered this hide. This was a busy location and served many geocachers well, be they local or travelers passing by on the 402 between Port Huron/Sarnia and London to points east.
Sorry to have to archive this hide. It had a special place in the geocaching and personal worlds of some of us not only in the London area but also southeastern Michigan.

Geocache Description:

It started with one, known as PaRaDiZ; and along came RayQix so then there was '2'. Good things come in small packages so the mathematical equation became '2+1' which some think is '3' but in this case it could actually be '5'. KacheHuntR became the '3' when he joined the group on September 29th, 2013, when he finally decided his parent's geocaching friends were not so bad and he made his way into the world.

This 'Small' cache container is located close south of the 402 on Wonderland Road. A wide shoulder in the area between the pavement and the ditch allows for adequate parking and in the mornings school buses use this area before proceeding to begin their morning pick-ups so getting off this busy road should not be too difficult but you will have to walk a few feet to get to the hide location which is near the road and not across the ditch so please be careful and if 'the kids' are with you ensure they are close at hand. Yes, I believe I did say the road was busy.

Being located close to the 402 this cache might make a nice little break on a drive between Sarnia/Port Huron and Toronto. The container is large enough that a few trinkets and/or traveling friends could easily be left here with very quick and fairly easy access on/off of the 402. If you head north a mile or two you will find an active retail area complete with all kinds of stores, food and fuel facilities as well. PaRaDiZ is familiar with the area as she used to travel this route on a regular basis while on business in Ontario and it was while she was 'commuting' that I got to know her and we would meet occasionally when I was enjoying a few trips to Michigan; which unfortunately does not happen often enough any more.

Oh, by the way, if you happen to be in the Metro Detroit area, you may want to try PaRaDiZ's geocache hides along Telegraph Road north of I-94 or RayQix's 'Outer Drive Series' for a tour of older Detroit areas (pay attention to your whereabouts) or his Detroit historical caches for a bit of a lesson or two about Detroit's past.
