Don't come to this cache between Sunset and Sunrise. Access is across private farmland, ignoring this request, could lead DOC to deny access to the park to everyone.(DOC/ ARC already have a dim view of cachers due to the behaviour or some of us..)
Please make sure the cache is left in the orientation you found it and out of sight.
A nice place for a picnic on a sunny day, it feels like you are kilometres from any where and you can even find wild goats using the toilets like the day I was there....
The cache is best accessed via the Department of Conservations Mt William track from state highway 2. The first and last part of this track is accessed by private farm land. Please respect this access and any posted restrictions(ie: August to October)
These caches are marked not for night time access, to prevent disturbance to the farm, and because there is a poaching and burglary problem in the area. Don't blame us if the locals string you up and not believe your story.. heard it all before...
Hiking boots or gumboots are highly recommended.
Please also make sure you have sufficient day light and have told some one where you are going and when you will be back .http://www.adventuresmart.org.nz/outdoors-intentions/
The cache is rated by the geocaching rating key, but a regular hiker will find it easy terrain.
We would love to hear your tale of the hunt, and perhaps you can add a few more caches to the track?
Cache is: 100ml container in camo and attached. Log only.
