I was asked by a leader of Brownie Troop 701 about geocaching and would I help with the girls to hide a cache. Finding the time was the hardest part and now finding a place locally that wasn't too challenging and in a woodsy environment was next challenge.
The cache is located near Hanshew Middle School and you can park there and enter the trails from there. The cache is located near a downed tree root ball about a 1/4 mile from the parking lot or so. The cache is an ammo can and contains a write in rain notebook. Hopefully we can stock the cache with Brownie patches and other related memorabilia. Should be a nice and easy find.
As always in Alaska, be aware of the local wildlife especially moose and bears both are usually located in this area.
