Come along and join us for some geocaching fun and socialising to celebrate another year of caching (almost!) done and dusted.
The event will be held at Tench Reserve alongside the Nepean River in Penrith on Sunday December 1st 2013.
The park runs alongside Tench Ave, Penrith. It is approximately a 3.5 kilometres walk from Penrith railway station, or you can reach it easily by car by taking the Mulgoa Rd exit off the M4. There is no regular bus service sadly on a Sunday, the 795 from Penrith Station only runs a few times a day.
The park includes free BBQs, a number of covered tables, open grass space, kids playground, heaps of parking, and toilet block. A member of the committee will be arriving early to secure a spot but please bring picnic blankets, chairs, cookers and shelter if you like. Ensure you bring a hat and sunscreen as well as your picnic gear.
The event will begin at 11 am and carry on as long as you like.
New geocachers are most welcome to attend as it's a great way to meet the local geocaching community and pick up some tips on finding and hiding geocaches.
Don't forget you can also swap geocoins and travel bugs at the event. The association will also have geocoins, pathtags and stickers for sale.
There are a few surprises we have planned for this year which will be announced in due time. Watch this listing or register your intent to attend to keep up to date.
Surprise #1! We will be announcing the 2011/12 & 2012/13 Geocache of the year... but not until you have voted! Attendees on the day will all have the chance, as well as GCNSW Forum Members... click the banner below! :D
This event is open to Geocaching NSW members and non-members alike, all are welcome. Come learn about what the Association does and have a great time meeting like minded folk.
