Wherigo tips*
**Slow down when coming into Zones and let your GPS catch up with you. **Sometimes it is necessary to exit and re-enter a zone **Your compass on smart phones is sometimes inverted. Watch that 'Distance" number in app is decreasing. **Waving your phone in a large figure eight pattern can sometimes realign your application compass.

Please list your Wherigo hardware in your log.

Laurel Hollow Park TRAIL MAP
 photo LHPTrailsPrimary2.jpg

At the turn of the century, Laurel Hollow was re-born from just a park, into a Zoo that was quickly abandoned in 1912. Complete with seals, monkeys, raccoons, squirrels, deer, geese, swans, ducks, alligators, and polar bears -to mention a few. A variety of towering trees abound. Quite a few 100+ year old park remnants remain. A vast variety wildlife is quite abundant throughout the park. A visit to www.laurelhollowpark.net will greatly enhance your visit. The website has a vast collection of well organized photos and information of the park and nearby local history.
The park contains a few miles of well marked trails. Picnic tables and grills are available. Responsible Dog walking on leash is welcome.

Thank you to the Newell Community Improvemet Coalition (NCIC)for supporting the placement of a series of caches within this park. Since 2008, The NCIC has leased the park from gracious Homer Laughlin China Co. and has strived to revive it for community use. The NCIC continues to do an amazingly balanced job of restoring this park, that now, once again, hosts community events & seems constantly filled with visitors.
The park trails have always seemed to attract pairs of lovers of all ages. It's a storybook hike and the kind of place you'll be eager to share with others.
