It is not known how long The Track has been known by this name, but local people often refer to this path as such. Much of it is a track, whereas the rest is a narrow path. For us it is of interest as when the ‘me’ part of us moved to Thame in 1989, The Track was one of the first walks the family did in the area. The path in the wood can get boggy even in summer with few alternatives, and the youngest member of the family then aged 5 boldly walked into the middle of the bog with her wellies on and managed to leave them behind, stuck in the mud! It was fun trying to re-unite her to them.
Recommended parking is shown for The Lighthouse, this being close to Chinnor RFC, and for The Kissing Gate where there are usually street parking spaces the town side of Tythrop Way.
