Geocache Description:

The cache is located above an unofficial campsite along a beautiful stretch of the American River, just down a short side-road off Hiwy410.  Due to Chinook Pass being closed during the winter, geocachers on the west side of the mountains will likely only have access from early summer through early fall.  East side cachers should have access all year.

There's definitely a story behind the name for this cache.  It began over 40 years ago when I rode my motorcycle over the mountains for a short camping/fishing trip.  I made camp here, and that evening as I prepared to cook my trout dinner, I realized I had no butter or oil to fry the fish in.  It seemed most everything was fried back then, and being a neophyte cook I didn't know I had other options.
Applying my teenage mind to the problem, I thought "Hmmm, peanut butter...".  Hey, don't laugh; I was serious!  Let me say this: peanut butter burns easily on a fry pan over an open fire and it imparts a wretched taste to trout.  Note to self: Cashew Chicken, "yum"; Peanut Butter Trout, "yuk!"
Although the trout made the supreme sacrifice for me, I was not willing to do the same for them.  I settled for a PBJ sandwich that night.

Congratulations to mrspotatohead for the FTF.
