The Tunnel Vision / Tunnel Orphans series of small caches was placed along the former Gwendraeth Valley - Burry Port railway line, which now forms part of the National Cycle Network.
"The Tunnel Orphans" series was a relaunch of the former "Tunnel Vision" series.
The caches were originally set up in 2011 by myself. However, I soon found out that I wasn't going to maintain them, partly because we were expecting a new baby. So they were unlisted, and then re-listed by Zodiac 73. However, the arrival of Zodiac's new baby meant that he didn't have the capability to maintain the trail! So I adopted them back in the Autumn of 2013. This whole mess of adopted caches and real life babies got me thinking along a theme - and "The Tunnel Orphans" theme is the result!
Along with me and Zodiac's family responsibilities, the series encountered several difficulties, including 1) Mediocre initial hides by myself and 2) Substantial maintainance on the footpath, which saw the path converted from a sludgy mess to a very pleasant cycle path. In November 2014 my geocaching activity hit another slump and I decided to abandon the Tunnel series, but kept this one going as it has remained unharmed and regularly found.
