Geocache Description:

This cemetery is referred to as St.John's cemetery on modern maps, but is better identified as Northfield or Old North Cemetery in historical documents. The cemetery dates from 1789. The related webpage has more details.

Annual maintenance is currently being performed by members of the nearby First Congregational Church of Stamford with great assistance from volunteers from the local LDS church. If you visit soon you will find the place in better condition than pictured here.

FCC Stamford is the church of the original founders of Stamford and recently celebrated it's 375th anniversary. FCC Stamford's minister during the Revolutionary War is interred here.

This cache was placed with permission of FCC Stamford. Cachers can help out by CITO'ing out any trash they find during the hunt. The area of the cache was recently cleared and should be readily accessible through the winter. Please post a note if the area becomes overgrown and I will place a smaller cache elsewhere on the grounds.

Congrats to BriGuy on the FTF. I didn't have any small toys to stock the cache with, I'll try to add some tradables shortly.
