Geocache Description:

St leaonards is about the only complete Medieval building left in Seaford, given that once it was the the most prosperous of the Cinque Ports town this is surprising.

St Leonards Church can trace its history back as far as 1090 when the first church on the site was erected. In the 12th Century the church was enlarged to cope with the growing population of Seaford. Much of the original medieval structure can still be seen along with a number of fine pieces of artwork and stained glass windows. Brown patches on some of the stonework are burn marks; these are the results of attacks by the French during the Hundred Years War.

Norman arches can be found in the north, south and west walls of the tower and a number of the outer base walls are of Norman origin.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.

There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list

to find the cache go to the grave on an ex mayor. It does sound like he was very short with hairy feet. He died in the year ABCD aged EF.

Now subtract 0.0(D-A)(F-E) from the easting and 0.0(B+C-F)(A+C) from the northing.
