Geocache Description:

EC Gold Medal in Sailing - EGMS

For those of you who have found my caches and "traveled the world" here is your chance to go to London and be at the Olympics - sort of.

I saw about 8 deer near here when I placed the cache. Not 24/7, and not a night cache.

EC lived 90 years and was my mother and a wonderful person.  I can't thank her enough for all that she did for me.  While going through her things I noticed this gold medal for sailing that I never heard about.  I will place the medal in the bottom of the geocache for others to see and enjoy.

Please leave the gold medal in the cache.  You will be hiking in St. Louis County Park Property and looking for something like a peanut butter jar, 6" high and 4" in diameter.  The marked spot for parking is also in the park.

Yes, imagine my surprise when I found this gold medal while going through my mother's things.  She was a great person.  I had never heard about the medal because I wasn't around when she was winning it.  You will be hiking in an area that at times may be wet or under water.  While you could set sail in this area I think it would be very difficult.  I would not recommend wading through here, and under normal conditions neither boots nor water craft are needed.

Have fun finding this cache, and feel free to share a story or photos of the deer, the Olympics, your parents, or sailing if you like.

Congratulations and FTF honors to the MidwestHunters !!!
