Geocache Description:

***READ "NOTE" BELOW BEFORE SEARCHING.*** This is a little metal container...a small Altoids can with a log. No pencil. FTF (after maintenance) can get an alien pin to remind you of NM! Easy park-and-find cache, right off the highway. NOTE: the cache is NOT located at the exact coordinates. Look at the OLDEST photo posted and place yourself in the photographer's location to be close to the cache. The cache is not visible from ground level…reach HIGH into the “armpit” of a tree.

This cache is in honor of my three little nephews. The name is a conglomeration of theirs. They helped me hide it and they are eagerly anticipating others finding their "prize". The coordinates will take you near to what used to be the town park. Not much left of the park anymore, but there are some nice shade trees there. Enjoy a break here, have a picnic, or take a little walk around town. If you stay a little while, a freight train might just race past you, blowing its horn as it approaches the crossing. They pass through several times a day...and night! About this location: This was a local store that closed in the late 1960's. It was run by my father's uncle and still displays the family name. It offered services to tourists that included tire changes, gas, restroom, and groceries. The facade is about the only part of the store that has weathered the years in fair condition. (Updated just this year!)Look down the road from this little store and you'll see what was the local bar for many years in Duran. The establishment closed in the early 1970's. The owner is retired but still lives here in Duran. In fact, if you are in front of this landmark, he is probably watching you right now! For years, the locals and visitors from nearby towns frequented this establishment for some liquid refreshment, maybe a dance, and perhaps a game of billiards or shuffle board. Please return the cache to it's spot like you found it. Enjoy your visit to Duran!
