Geocache Description:

We will meet at 6pm by the nearby Earthcache and then go for a walk round the outside of Saint Paul's Cathedral and look at the stones used in this wonderful building . As usual we should be able to find lots of fossils.

The first Earthcache was created on the 10th of January 2004 on a headland 3 hrs south of Sydney, Australia. It was 'placed' by Geoaware and his two daughters. EarthCache I - a simple geology tour of Wasp Head sat for two weeks before it was found by Tankengine.

The first log reads:" Chooo ooo *FTF* The family wanted to go to the beach today, and I thought that was a great idea! They had fun in the sand, and I went off to do the cache. It was great! Just a like exploring around the rock pools, but with a geology lesson thrown in! I’ve seen similar formations in the past, and often wondered how the heck they got to be like that, but here all was explained! Fantastic! The only minor difficulty was the initial access from the beach to the rocks, but after that it was easy going. (I think it was high tide). Excellent cache thanks geoaware – now I’m looking forward to more…"

I have reserved space for 25 people from 7.00pm onwards at Corney & Barrow 10 Paternoster Square London EC4M 7DX.

I have received a great package of goodies to give away from those nice people at The Geological Society of America, so when you sign the log you will be able to choose one item from the goodie bag.
