Geocache Description:

Kanata is one of the largest suburbs of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

This multi-cache will show different places in my area of Kanata.

There is no cache at the posted coordinates.

I've lived in Kanata my whole life, and I love it. There's so many great places and views; Enough to last a lifetime. When I first started geocaching a few years back, I wanted to place a multi-cache with tags that led you all around Kanata. I later learned that the tags were treated like caches themselves, and had to be at least 160 meters away from an other multi-cache final or puzzle. Seeing as Kanata had quite a few caches, a multi-cache with 10 or 11 tags wouldn't work out so well.

But everyday I could I kept biking around My Corner of Kanata. I've attatched an image of "My Corner of Kanata", and this is where I always bike, for school, or for pleasure/exercise.

So instead of placing tags, I picked out the locations in Kanata I really liked, and thought up questions about them (Stuff on plaques, etc). In the end I had nine stages (Plus the final) that got you zigzagging all over Kanata. All the stages should be wheelchair friendly, except for the final, which is why the terrain rating is at a 2.5. At each stage you will gather some numbers which will lead you to the final.

The final is currently a silver coffee tin. It has no swag, so much appreciated if you add some. I will change the container later and add swag. Coordinates in the area ARE bouncy, so beware!!

Stage 1. N45 18.444 W075 53.247

These are the posted coords for this multi-cache. They should lead you to the soccer fields at Hewitt Park. Count the number of soccer nets around the posted coordinates. This number is 'A'.

Stage 2. N45 18.(A-1)3(A-3) W075 53.3(A+2)(A+3)

You should be at two wooden telephone poles. Both have yellow tags with three black characters on them. One of these tags has a three-numbered palindromic prime. The DR (digital root) of this palindromic prime is 'B'.

Stage 3. N45 18.(B+2)83 W075 53.8(A)(B-3)

This stage is considerably further from the starting stage than stage 2. was. If you're coordinates are right, you'll be at a plaque for a Royal Canadian Naval Volounteer. Let 'C' be the day of the year he was born on. Let 'D' be the DR of the Kanata branch this plaque is from. (Hint for 'D': Lower left corner).

Stage 4. N45 19.0(C+1)(C) W075 53.(D)0(B+A-4)

You should be at an other plaque now - This one, for a Canadian man who was in the British army. What year did Queen Victoria award him the Victoria's Cross badge? The DR of this year is 'E'.

Stage 5. N45 18.(D)(A-1)(B+C) W075 53.(D)(D)(E+C)

These coordinates will lead you to a concrete lamppost. On the uppermost metal tag built into the concrete (Around chest high) it should say the class of the lamppost (It's a letter). Turn that letter into a number (A=1, B=2, C=3...) and add it to the DR of the "job#", which can also be found on the tag. The sum is 'F'.

Stage 6. N45 18.(F+1)(C-1)(E-2) W075 53.(E)(E)(A-6)

Posted twice, in black letters on a yellow tag, on this green electrical box is it's number. It is in the form of letter-number-number. Ignore the letter and find the DR of the numbers. The sum is 'G'.

Stage 7. N45 18.(C)(F-1)(E) W075 53.0(F-4)(G)

These coordinates will take you to an other lamppost. Just above knee-level, there's an other silver tag with specifications about the lamppost, similar to the other one. Find the WALL number (Three digits), and get it's DR. This number is 'H'.

Stage 8. N45 18.(C)(G-6)(H) W075 52.(G)(A)(E)

You should be at a place for children to play, near some soccer fields. Find the black number on the play place (It's easy to spot). It's in the form of Letter-number-number-number. Once again ignore the letter, and DR the numbers. The sum of the three numbers is 'I'.

Stage 9. N45 18.(I-(G÷C))(H-2)(C) W075 52.(I)(F-E)(D+I).

What bird's name is used in the name of this private neighborhood? (NO TRESSPASSING IS REQUIRED). Once you have it (5 letters) find the DR of that bird name, and call that number 'J'.

Final Stage. N45 1((H*J)+(A-B)).((A*E)/(F-C))(J/E+F)(D/I+B) W075 5(H).(I+F-H)(A/J-C)(A+C-G)

Here's the final stage. The view from here can be great if you stand on one of the rocks and look out. The container when it was originally placed is a silver tapped coffee tin, with just a small logbook, but I'm working on putting out a better container, and it will be placed with great swag soon.

Happy caching guys! Hope you enjoy Kanata.
