Geocache Description:

Welcome the the Bath Nature Preserve,  a  410 acre parcel which was formerly part of the Raymond Firestone Estate.  This gorgeous park offers something for everyone:  equestrian trails, catch and release ponds for fishing, sled riding, cross country skiing, and LOTS of geocaches, which is what we all love!   The park has recently opened a new section to the public, and we could not let this good deed go unrewarded.

Our all time favorite geocache is located in this park, the “Music Mania Multi Cache” by coryc819.  It is a premium member cache,  but the cache alone is worth the price of membership.   So, in keeping with the  “music” theme,   Geocampers welcome you to the

“Splish Splash, I was Taken to Bath” series

The first three caches in the series are “stand-alone” caches.  However, there is also a question in each cache that, if answered correctly, will provide a portion of the coordinates to the final in this series.   You will get to play with your technology, because in order to answer the questions (which pertain to the final only), you will either need a smart phone, or you will need to return after doing your homework.  Wikipedia is your friend.

The final location is just spectacular.  We are so excited that this area is open for everybody to enjoy now.

"Splish Splash, I was Taken to Bath"  Cache #3

"Wide Open Spaces"

“Wide Open Spaces”, recorded by the Dixie Chicks and released in July, 1998, spent four weeks in the #1 spot on the Country Singles Charts.  During that year, the Dixie Chicks sold more records than all other country music groups combined.  This, of course, was prior to the scandal that rocked their careers.

The closest parking for “Wide Open Spaces” is located near the University of Akron Field Station.  If you are doing all four caches in the series and are up for a really nice walk, we suggest parking at the IRA road lot, grabbing the first two caches, and then walking up the road (not the trail) to the University of Akron Field Station and heading to Cache #3 from there. This approach should ensure that you do not get disoriented if you are heading to Cache #4 from here. This park is big, folks! Lots of Wide Open Spaces!
