Geocache Description:

This cache is placed with permission of the Museum,Peter Cobb was a well known and respected local historian.  A founder memeber of the UK Fortification Club he was instrumental in getting volunteers to dig out the sites, a precursor to what is now a Royal Armouries Site.

Peter had 2 benches placed near the ramparts in the Museum (subsequently moved around). This Micro cache is a small climb and you can admire the view and nature of this place. Unfortunately I am posted to the States and therefore the log is full, but worth the visit as many comment on the museum when looking for this. You will need tweezers or thin fingers to extract it from it's hiding place.  A careful eye will distinguish the difference to find it.

Opening hours are : 1000 - 1700 Jan-Oct and 1000 - 1600 Nov & Dec.

Whilst this restricts your visit it is a cache is in tribute to Peter and his work it is a welcome place to visit and free which is always a winner.
