Geocache Description:

Some long forgotten British Military graves in the quiet little town of Dannhauser. I lived here during my first years in Natal and though I explored many places around here as a child, I cannot recall these graves. I stumbled upon them while doing research on other graves in the area. While inquiring about the ones i was looking for, these were mentioned.

You will find three graves at GZ. One is of Pvt J Wooder, Army Number 3295 of the 13th Hussars died of enteric fever on June 2, 1900. The second of Pvt D Underwood, Army Number 3112 of the 1st Royal Dragoon Guards died of a self inflicted wound on 29 May, 1900. The third grave has no centre plaque so as yet remains as an unknown. Judging by the date we can only assume that they were part of the British forces who had relieved Dundee and were then on their way towards Botha’s Pass.

Unfortunately this has become another part of the past that has faded away into obscurity. The cache is located at the site but not on the grave so no need to search the graves.  Please be aware of muggles passing as this is close to a path and there could be some pedestrian traffic going by.
