The Green Winged Orchid, Anacamptis morio (formerly Orchis morio), is a short orchid and is a plant of unimproved drier grassland, usually flowering in May or June. The flowers cluster around a single spike, and tend to be pink or purple with three lobes. The name is derived from a hood formed by the sepals above the flower which appear lined with green veins. The leaves are narrow and pointed and do not have spots on them unlike some other common grassland orchids.
This flower can be seen in the hay meadows around the forest.
This cache is a clip lock box in a camouflage bag. There is a certificate for the First To Find. Please feel free to swap any item in the ‘cache but please remember, if you take something, leave something of equal or greater value in return.
