dictaham: Liberty field has changed from A aviation related area to a place for polo ponies to pasture and eventually have polo games. Thus it time to change the spirit of the cache to reflect that change.

This is Liberty Field. Est. 1947. In it's day it hosted a number of aircraft from the old DC 3 (AKA C47) to Piper cubs and others. Congrats to Team Psychopuppy for the FTF.
At one time Liberty Field was home to a Skydiving club and it was Sonoma County's main Ultra Light field. The Airfield had 2 runways, a main east/west runway and a crosswind runway running roughly north/south. Today Liberty Field is host to two activities. RC model aircraft (please don't call them drones) and Motocross Motorcycles. From where the Cache is located if one were to look west on a weekend morning you can see the RC planes flying through the air with the greatest of ease. We fly all types of aircraft from Gliders to large scale aerobatic planes. We fly the WW2 warbirds and WW1 biplanes. You can see the Helicopter guys doing their thing (quite impressive). Just beyond the RC field the motorcycle guys are doing their thing they have jumps and ramps, flat tracks and training runs. They run everything from tiny dirt bikes to much larger trail bikes. These guys can sometimes almost get as much air as the RC plane guys do just not as long. you will find these 2 groups doing their thing on any weekend (providing the weather is good) The RC guys usually in the morning from 8AM to around 1PM and the motorcycle guys start coming in around 10AM. This cache is kinda basic. the main thing I ask is please do not block the gate while on site there is plenty of room to park without blocking the gate. If you would like to see the RC planes close up please contact the CO and I can arrange to meet you at the gate.
