Queen Street Sculptures Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

smirkwood: It's with a heavy heart that I archive this cache. Although I love geocaching and hiding geocaches has given me a lot of joy, I have to recognise that I simply don't have the time and energy to dedicate to maintaining my hides anymore and the worry about replacing them now overrides the joy I get from reading logs by happy finders. May this space be used by someone more able and willing!

Geocache Description:

I stumbled upon the sculptures of Hilik Mirankar on Queen Street when I was walking to a friend's birthday drinks one night and I wanted to share that inspiring experience with a wider audience. By hiding this cache as a multi, I can recreate my walk through the street, while at the same time probably making this cache slightly less popular than if it were a tradi and therefore more secure a hide. I don't want to say too much about what you will see on this short stroll as I don't want to spoil the magic. If you'd like to learn more afterwards, you can look it up on the web!

How to find the coordinates to GZ:  At Waypoint 1 you will see a building with odd irregular/tear-shaped windows. On the bottom-most level that has these windows, the windows are not filled with glass (you could put your hand right through). Count the number of these non-glass holes for AB (i.e. both numbers are different) (to double-check, AB is less than 30 - you only need to take the side of the building you can see from WP1).

The coordinates for GZ are as follows:

S 33°52.(ABx31+7)

E 151°11.(ABx19+24)

Remember your BODMAS rules!

The cache itself is a magnetic film cannister. Please be respectful of the artwork and of the private residences! Also, please be stealthy around GZ (especially around beer o'clock) as it is often in the line of sight of locals and bring your own pen... Happy caching!
