Target Kloof connects the Central suburb of Port Elizabeth with Walmer. Walmer was originally a town on its own and only became part of Port Elizabeth in 1855. The building of this road was first approved by the city council in 1896.
The road has been rebuilt on two occasions to accommodate the increased traffic volumes.
The current bridge over the Baakens River is dated 1951. The side barriers of the bridge are starting to deteriorate and have some real ameteurish repairs by the municipality. It is a pity they did not do a proper repair and restoration.
The cache is at the bridge. Please park where indicated after approaching the bridge from Cape Road
