This cache has been approved by the Orange County Parks and Recreation Division. Located on a 110-acre parcel funded by the Florida Communities Trust (FCT) and managed by Orange County Parks and Recreation Division, the cache can be found in the middle of a chalky bluestem patch. Chalky bluestem is a common native plant that has a blue-white chalky characteristic about its blades. Chalk up your visit, grab some swag and take a short hike to three other cache found off Prairie Lake Trail (red loop).
Parking is available across the street from the 110-acres in Kelly Park. Tell gatehouse staff you are only there to visit the FCT parcel and the entrance fee will be waived (you must park in the lot adjacent to the gatehouse). To enter the FCT property, walk across the street to the concrete pad and you will see the gated front entrance to the right. Follow Prairie Lake Trail (red loop) and enjoy the beautiful Florida scenery and wildlife. The park is open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. in winter and 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. in summer.
