whats in a name - well Slash Lane is steeped in history, its a road that becomes a canal during the winter - i have driven many a car through the floods when I lived in Sileby - the alternative was a long diversion !
The name of the lane is from the English Civil War - it is alleged that Oliver Cromwell took part in a skirmish near here....either way when driving down at night, look out for headless horseman dressed in period attire.....
