Geocache Description:

This is a P&G geocache at the Harry Lee Waterfield Park, a roadside park just off U.S. Highway 68 at Jonathan Creek.  The container is a very small plastic preformed tube with log only. BYOB  Please return as found.

This roadside park offers amazing views of the Jonathan Creek embayment of Kentucky Lake.  Facilities include 24-hour restrooms on a seasonal basis and a trail down to the water at the end of the parking lot.  Across the bridge is a boat ramp to access the water.

Harry Lee Waterfield Road Side Park Facilities

HLWHarry Lee Waterfield (January 19, 1911 - August 4, 1988), was originally from Hickman County, Kentucky.  A Democrat, he served as the 42nd (1955-59) and 44th (1963-67) Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky and unsuccessfully sought election as Governor of Kentucky. He served under Happy Chandler in his first term and under Edward T. Breathitt in his second.  The primary library at Waterfield's alma mater, Murray State University, is named in his honor.
